About Jordan
My name is Jordan Haire and I am running for Ohio State Rep for the 47th District. As a mental health counselor for the last 13 years, and in listening to and working with hundreds of different people one thing is clear: the systems that were meant to support us are failing us, over and over again. The current political climate is focused on division-red vs blue-when in reality it is going to take all of us to come together and overhaul the system that has become misguided and harmful.
I was raised right here, in Fairfield and Ross, attending Hamilton Badin High School, and grew up in the Catholic Church. The values my church and parents instilled in me and my siblings are what have driven me to first pursue a career in helping people and now, enter politics. These values-dignity of the human being and reverence to all creation-have guided me down a path of life-long service to others. These values aren’t unique to the Catholic faith. They are the bedrock of most faiths, and in most humans that believe that good exists in this world. They are the same values that my husband and I are hoping to instill in our young daughter.
The news of a potential data center in Hamilton was the tipping point for me: I chose this area to raise my family because it is a beautiful, growing and vibrant community that has always centered around family and strong community. I don’t want my community to see increased utilities costs, increased stress to our infrastructure, and destruction of our environment brought on by these centers. Add this issue on top of rising health insurance costs, rising prices, and rising property taxes. Within a week of expressing my concerns and digging deeper into the problem I found a solution: run for office and advocate for our community in Columbus.
As your state representative, I pledge to listen to every voter interested in my race, and even those who might oppose me, to represent the interest of all Ohioans.
