I am a mental health counselor by trade, so I’m used to listening more than speaking. I understand that the personal is political, and the political is personal. That is what this campaign will be about: listening to the voters of Butler County and delivering on the issues that are most urgent to them. After talking with voters across our district the below issues have risen to the top of my list:

Affordability

Costs keep going in one direction: UP. While this may not affect those currently in power it is affecting Ohioans across my district and our state. While we cannot single-handedly change the direction of the economy, Ohio’s legislature can take very simple steps to ease the burden of all Ohioans. I pledge to work with anyone who is willing to make headway on our affordability issues and help the hardworking families of our district and state.

Education

Our school funding system has been ruled UNCONSITUTIONAL several times since 1997 and our Legislators have done absolutely NOTHING to address it. We need to adequately fund public schools—FULL STOP. As a Badin graduate, I also understand the desire for parents to have options and I won’t deny parents that right, we just need to make sure these options don’t come at the cost of another child’s education. There is no reason all Ohio kids can’t have a quality education.

Accountability

The problems above can be addressed by our current Legislators, but they REFUSE TO ACT. It’s time we choose leaders who listen and are accountable to the voters who choose them. I’m sick of politics as usual and most of my neighbors are too, it’s time we have Legislators that actually take action on the issues that mean the most to us.
